The Sugar Land Citizens Fire Academy Alumni (CFAA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 by the graduates of the Citizens Fire Academy and was formed to support Sugar Land firefighters directly. The organization partners with Sugar Land Fire-EMS (SLFE) for Community Events and provides equipment and support to enhance the firefighter's work life.

Last year, CFAA hosted its second annual Firefighters Ball to raise money for community awareness and continued support of SLFE. The proceeds they raised go directly to supporting the Fire Department; therefore, CFAA would like to donate $42,606.87 to SLFE so they can purchase the following:

• Purchase of additional situational awareness thermal imaging cameras to enhance firefighter safety.
• Purchase of specialized equipment for mid-rise and multistory fires to enhance firefighter capabilities and safety.
• Purchase of EMS equipment to utilize for training.

• Utilization of funds for training programs in the areas of Officer development and deployment practices.

The Sugar Land Fire-EMS Department recommends that the City Council accept this monetary donation of $42,606.87 from the Sugar Land Citizens Fire Academy Alumni and approve a budget amendment in the amount of $42,606.87 for SLFE to further enhance safety, equipment, and training.
