State of Texas Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division has awarded the City of Sugar Land's Police Department funds for the purchase of bullet-resistant shields to protect the lives of law enforcement officers within FY2023 Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant program. 
 
Galls LLC, is the leading distributor of uniforms and equipment to the public safety market and a preferred vendor for those public safety supply needs within the City of Sugar Land. The pricing for the Ballistic Shields is listed under BuyBoard contract No. 670-22. Cooperative Agreements are with governmental purchasing organizations. These agreements leverage the purchasing potential of governmental entities. All contracts are competitively bid, and contracts are awarded in compliance with state procurement laws and regulations.
 
The total cost of the purchase of the 12 Ballistic Shields is $71,000.00. Consistent with State Law, purchases over $50,000.00 must be approved by City Council.
 
The Sugar Land Police Department recommends the City Council approve the execution of a contract with Galls LLC, in the amount of $71,000.00 through BuyBoard contract No. 670-22 for the purchase of 12 Ballistic Shields.
