|
| | | | | | | | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: | The City Hall underground storage tank was installed in 2004 to provide fuel to the City Hall on-site generator and serve as a reserve fuel for the City in the event of power losses at remote City facilities.
Over the past two years, the generator system has incurred several repairs due to a failing tank monitoring system and groundwater infiltration. In early 2023, the City had the groundwater infiltration issue and tank monitoring system issues addressed by installing new tank sumps and a monitoring system. While replacing the monitoring system, it was discovered that the existing monitoring system not only controls the filtration system but also ties to a control panel for filling the day tank for the generator from the underground reserve tank. This type of system has become obsolete, and it was recommended that the remainder of the control system be replaced.
This contract includes the replacement of the existing fuel filtration system and master control panel for the generator tank and communications to connect the tank monitoring system to the internet to monitor the fuel system remotely. Separation Solution Consultants Inc. (SSCI) is selected for the project's design. SSCI is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm located in Houston.
The Engineering Department and Facilities division recommends authorization of the execution of a contract with Separation Solutions Consultants, Inc. (SSCI) for the City Hall Underground Storage Tank Repairs, CIP CMU2302, in the amount of $92,280.00. |
