In the Summer of 2023, staff began working on a comprehensive compensation study, which included reviewing and updating existing policies to modernize the City’s approach to compensation. As the compensation project is nearing completion, staff has worked with the Council through the 2024 Spring Retreat and the Compensation Committee to update the Council’s Compensation Policy (Policy No. 6000-04). The Compensation Policy provides the guiding principles and key objectives for the administration of employee compensation and benefits. This Policy was updated in May 2013, and it was last reviewed by Council in May 2018.
