AGENDA CAPTION:

Consideration of and action on authorization of Amendment No. 3 to the Multiple Use Agreement with the State of Texas, for installation of additional Flock License Plate Recognition cameras on State Highway 6.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

The Sugar Land Police Department requests that the City Council approve an amendment to the multiple-use agreement with TXDOT for the installation of FLOCK LPR cameras.

 

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Flock Safety is a technology company that provides security solutions, primarily through the deployment of automated license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras. Flock cameras are designed to capture license plate data and vehicle details like make, model, and color to assist law enforcement agencies in solving and preventing crime.

 

The original agreement with TXDOT was approved on April 18th, 2023. The agreement requested the State permit construction, maintenance, and operation of 58 license plate recognition cameras at multiple locations on TXDOT right of ways. 

 

The Police Department seeks to amend the multiple use agreement between the City and TXDOT for the purpose of installing of additional FLOCK LPR cameras on State Highway 6.
