| | | | | | | | | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: | The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) and the Department of Transportation (TxDOT), have selected the Sugar Land Police Department to receive grant funding as a participant in the 2018 H-GAC Regional DWI Task Force.
On September 19, 2017, the City of Sugar Land Police Department was awarded funding in the amount of $5,500.00 for DWI enforcement during each of the following holiday waves:

The DWI Grant is a 1-year grant beginning October 1, 2017 thru September 30, 2018. This is a matching grant program that reimburses the City $5,500.00, which equates to 80% of the total expenditures required to operate the program. The City will match 20%, or $1,375 from expenses not covered by the grant, such as benefits, taxes, fuel, maintenance, and mileage charges. The matching funds are available within Police Department operating budget, and will require no additional expense to the City.
The Sugar Land Police Department recommends the City Council accept the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Sugar Land and H-GAC, approve Resolution No.18-09, appoint Chief Douglas Brinkley to be the authorized grant official and authorize a budget amendment to reflect revenues and expenditures in the amount of $5,500.00. |
