| | | | | | | | | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: | Chapter 791, Tex. Gov't Code and Chapter 271, Subchapter F, Tex. Local Gov't Code, authorize cities to enter into Interlocal Agreements to take advantage of potential cost savings resulting from cooperative purchasing efforts. In accordance with Chapter 791, Tex. Gov't Code, Chapter 271, Subchapter F, Tex. Local Gov't Code and the City's Purchasing Policies, the City Council must approve all Interlocal Agreements prior to the City Manager signing the contract.
The City of Rosenberg contacted the City of Sugar Land stating they would like to enter into an Agreement with the City in order to take advantage of competitively bid contracts for goods and services. An Interlocal Agreement allows both cities to share and take advantage of these competitively procured contracts as long as the agreement remains in place. This is an opportunity for cities, counties, and other entities to work together to provide time and cost savings to the public.
Upon approval by City of Sugar Land City Council, the agreement will be for a one-year term, with automatic renewals each year thereafter.
The Purchasing Office recommends City Council approve the Interlocal Agreement with The City of Rosenberg.
