In accordance with Ordinance 2095 and Chapter 2, Article III, Section 2-54 of the Code of Ordinances, City Council will be conducting interviews to establish a seven-member Independent Ethics Review Board with two alternates, totaling nine individuals.
Submission of applications by citizens to serve on the Board closed on Friday, June 1, 2018. Twenty-five total applications were received consisting of 23 qualified candidates, 1 disqualification, and 1 withdrawal. One candidate was disqualified due to residency requirements not being met. One candidate moved out of Sugar Land during this process and withdrew voluntarily.
Of the 23 qualified candidates, each City Council member selected their top three. Their selections were consolidated and resulted in 14 unique selections. These selected candidates were scheduled for interviews in no particular order on July 23rd and July 30th.

Board appointments will occur at a regular City Council meeting shortly after all interviews have been conducted. Training of the Board members will occur after appointments.
