The City, along with many other organizations, are responsible for providing services to the residents. These services include the maintenance of the right-of-way, streets, trees, irrigation, street lighting, and many other services. In an effort to maintain the “Sugar Land Way,” this project aims to define and clarify the responsibilities of the City and the different organizations involved, in order to provide the highest standards to the residents. This includes maintaining aging infrastructure and facilities at the high level expected by our residents and constantly improving the appearance of the community - all while maintaining a focus on the value for residents' tax dollars.
A City Council Committee and Citizen Task Force will be utilized to provide direction on updating/creating policies and setting priorities. This item was reviewed with the Council Finance/Audit Committee at their December 11, 2018 meeting.
This workshop will provide an update on the proposed process and next steps for the project as well as the schedule anticipated for completion. This process will take a considerable amount of public time and involvement in order to make sure that the expectations are met and responsibilities are known moving forward.
