In observance of Fire Prevention Week (FPW), October 7 - 13, 2018, the Sugar Land Fire - EMS Department will be visiting third grade classes throughout the month of October to educate them with a FPW presentation. The theme for this year's FPW is "Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware. Fire can happen anywhere." Firefighters will also be visiting area daycares and preschools.
The annual Public Safety Open House will be held on Saturday, October 6th from 10 am-2 pm at the Greatwood Community Center in support of the recent annexation. It serves as an opportunity for citizens to meet their firefighters, talk to fire department's leaders, and get a look at the equipment used to keep the City safe. The Police Department and Dispatch will also be participating in this event
