The total contract price will increase to $52,815.00. |
|
| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDED ACTION: | Request City Council approve change order in the amount of $3,315 for existing FY18 contract with Sugar Land Family Physicians, for a total contract of $52,815. |
|
| | | | | | | | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: | On May 15, 2018 the Sugar Land Fire - EMS department entered into a contract with Sugar Land Family Physicians in the amount of $49,500 to perform immunizations and physicals for firefighters/paramedics. The requested change order is approximately 6.7% of the original contract amount, which puts the total over $50,000, requiring approval by City Council.
Several factors have caused the need for a change order in the amount of $3,315, which will increase the contract to $52,815 for FY18. These factors include physicals for seven new hires, required additional boosters/immunizations for personnel, and specialized testing for personnel over a certain age or family history. Since these services were FY18 activities they must go against the existing contract, requiring the change order.
Staff will be bringing forward a new contract to City Council for approval for FY19 activities needed for the Fire/EMS department, which will accommodate a higher level of activity than previously encompassed under the contract after staff was added last year to provide EMS and fire prevention services in the newly annexed areas.
