Constable Precinct 4 has provided contract security services for New Territory Residential Community Association for several years. By law, any law enforcement agency providing extra/off duty security for a subdivision must have a contract with the subdivision approved by the city/county governing body where the subdivision is located. Accordingly, Constable Trever Nehls has submitted a contract for approval by City Council, as required.
While the Sugar Land Police Department does not deem security is necessary, PD staff has reviewed the contract and approved Constable Nehls' proposed services to the subdivision. The Constable's services will not affect SLPD procedure, operations, or responsibility; and will only provide additional security as desired by the Homeowners Association.
The Sugar Land Police Department recommends City Council approve the Agreement with Fort Bend County and New Territory Residential Community Association for security services.
