|
| | | | | | | | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: | As part of an intentional strategy to grow the City's economic base and enhance Sugar Land's reputation as a destination location through unique entertainment venues, the 52-acre festival site has been designed to accommodate large-scale, community, and civic events. As such, an official name needs to be approved by City Council to officially name the destination venue
Per policy, the Festival Site Naming City Council Task Force was formed to identify potential names for the area that is currently referred to as the Sugar Land Festival Site. After discussion and preliminary research, the Task Force selected The Crown Festival Park at Sugar Land as the recommended name for the City Council to consider and approve. The recommended name meets criteria outlined in the City’s Naming of City Facilities and Sub-Facilities Policy.
Based on City Council discussion and final determination, staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 18-04 to officially name the area currently known as the Sugar Land Fesitival Site as The Crown Festival Park at Sugar Land. |
