Council Member Steve Porter, Council Member Bridget Yeung, and Mr. Dennis Parmer would like to discuss with the City Council the consideration of naming the Main Street Bridge after Annette Williamson Wise (1945-2011).

In 2011, a petition was signed by approximately 200 members of the community "in support of the proposal to dedicate Sugar Land's Main Street Bridge in honor of Annette Williamson Wise, who led the effort to decorate the bridge for the City's sesquicentennial celebrations in 1986 and maintain it afterward. Annette served her community in many other ways, as well."

The petition continues that "We feel that this is a very appropriate way in which we can remember and honor Annette for her contributions to the community. Annette W. Wise will be missed."
