The Sugar Land Police Department invites the citizens of Sugar Land, TX to celebrate the annual National Night Out event on October 3, 2017.
In 1984, National Night Out was formed in an effort to promote crime prevention activities, increase police & community partnerships and enhance camaraderie between neighboring communities. The mere presence of the National Night Out event demonstrates unity between local neighborhoods and law enforcement officers while sending the message of the importance of maintaining safe communities.
On a national level, this annual event involves more than 89,000 communities including U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. In all, approximately 31 million people participate in "America's Night Out Against Crime.”
On Tuesday, October 3rd, various neighborhoods will host a variety of events such as block parties and cookouts. The Sugar Land Police Department encourages citizens to lock their doors, turn on their porch lights, and gather with their neighbors and City Officials in celebration of National Night Out.
