Cyber security is the body of technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs, and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. The goal of this workshop and the recognition of Cyber Security Awareness Month is to build cybersecurity awareness.

October has been designated as National Cyber Security Awareness Month since 2003. In conjunction with our fellow local and state governments, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance, we use this month to bring cybersecurity awareness to the forefront. Cybersecurity awareness is the City of Sugar Land’s greatest defense against online threats.
