Superion (previously SunGard Public Sector) is the software vendor for the City’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. It is the backbone for the City’s internal operations, including utility billing, financials, payroll, code enforcement, permits and inspections, etc.

This is a request to renew our software maintenance agreement for another year. Renewal entitles the City to receive regular software enhancements as they become available, current user and system documentation, and 24/7 support.

The terms and fees for the software and support of applications are consistent with prior year charges with a five percent annual increase. Increases in maintenance fees on an aging technology and business requirements outgrowing existing functionality underline the need for a new ERP system.

Renewal of the Superion maintenance is budgeted in the FY18 Information Technology budget, in the Repair and Maintenance Service - Other Assets account.

The Information Technology Department recommends that the City Council authorize the expenditure for Superion to support the Enterprise Resource Planning System.
