The Engineering Department will present to City Council an engineering analysis describing the following activities as it relates to the Hurricane Harvey Event:
1. City's drainage system overview
2. Analysis of the event (rain and river flooding event)
3. Preparation activities before the storm event
4. Coordination with and support to levee districts (LID's) during the storm
5. Evaluation of structural flooding and other impacts to the City
6. Data collection after the storm
7. Joined study with FBC LID #2 to conduct engineering analysis of areas that had structure flooding
8. Present preliminary results from the study
The department will also identify the next steps in our post Harvey analysis across the City and the projects related to this event and their impacts. These will be brought back to City Council for review and possible contracts for engineering services when necessary.
