| | | | | | | | | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: | Each year, as part of the annual strategic planning process, staff prepares and presents a proposed work plan for the new fiscal year at a City Council work session.
The work plan includes a compilation of all strategic projects and initiatives for the fiscal year – policy, management, and implementation. Departments develop scopes and objectives for these projects and initiatives – many of which are assigned to a City Council sub-committee or Board / Commission – in order to outline how they will achieve goals, strategies or priorities set forth by the City Council. The FY18 work plan, which provides the City Council and staff with a common direction on the priorities for the fiscal year, consists of 39 projects and initiatives shown by City Council Mid-Term Priorities.

• 23 Responsible City Government: Financially Sound, Exceptional Service,
• 6 Great Place to Live: Development, Redevelopment, Mobility, Environment, and
• 7 Building Community: Diverse Cultures, Leisure, Arts.
Staff will also present an update on the Regional/Local IGR key agenda to provide the City Council a more comprehensive overview of the City's policy priorities for the new fiscal year.
Revised materials containing strategic project charters and the City Council Boards and Commissions proposed Work Plan were provided to the City Council on October 12.
