Authorize expenditures in the amount of $100,000 with Siddons-Martin Emergency Group for the purchase of fire apparatus and ambulance parts.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

Siddons-Martin Emergency group is the sole dealer for Pierce Fire Apparatus parts and Road Rescue Ambulance parts in Texas.  These parts are listed under BuyBoard cooperative pricing 491-15 (Fire Apparatus) and 492-15 (Ambulance).

Cooperative Agreements are with governmental purchasing organizations of which the City is a member. These agreements leverage the purchasing potential of governmental entities. All contracts are competitively bid, and contracts are awarded in compliance with state procurement laws and regulations.

Fleet Services purchases manufacturer original parts for these vehicles in order to maintain vehicle quality and their safe and reliable operation. Many of these parts are proprietary and cannot be obtained from any other sources.

The Environmental and Neighborhood Services Department recommends approval of the purchase of fire apparatus and ambulance parts from Siddons-Martin Emergency Group in the amount of $100,000.  Fleet maintenance and repair expenses are budgeted through the vehicle maintenance line item in the individual department operating budgets.  Repair and maintenance expenses are charged out to the departments through the fleet management system.
