Consideration of and action on acceptance of a donation in the amount of $44,952.00 from Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) and authorize a budget amendment to revenues and expenditures.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept a monetary donation in the amount of $44,952 from the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) and approve a budget amendment to revenues and expenditures.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

In October 2017, CPAAA hosted the 1st Annual Blue October event fundraiser at the Smart Financial Centre in an effort to assist the Sugar Land Police Department with the purchase of law enforcement equipment. 

 

Through the generous support of the CPAAA, ACE Limited, local businesses, community leaders and citizens, the Blue October fundraiser donates $44,952 to the Sugar Land Police Department to purchase the following:

 

  • 4 SWAT vests
  • 5 Patrol shotguns
  • 4 SWAT shotguns
  • Forensic Lab Accreditation Certification
  • Air Science Down Flow Workstation
  • Ninhydrin Development Chamber
  • Laboratory Cabinets and Additional Forensic Accessories

 

Staff requests City Council approval to accept a monetary donation in the amount of $44,952 from CPAAA and approve a budget amendment to revenues and expenditures. This item ($44,952.00 in revenue and expenditures) is not included in the FY18 carry over list.
